JNU vice-chancellor not to file complaint with police
A member from a Left student outfit rejected the allegation and said that a group of students had gone to meet the vice chancellor.
New Delhi: Jawahar Lal University’s vice-chancellor on Tuesday said that he have forgiven the students who barged into his house and will not file a police complaint against them.
A day after alleging that some students forcibly entered his house and confined his wife for several hours, JNU vice-chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar said that he had “forgiven” them and would not file a complaint.
“While last night’s violent behaviour by students in front my residence is condemnable, neither I nor my wife will file a police complaint against the students.
“We have forgiven them. Wish them the best and hope they will reform and not repeat such acts in future,” Mr Kumar said.
The JNUSU has denied Mr Kumar’s claim. A member from a Left student outfit rejected the allegation and said that a group of students had gone to meet the vice chancellor, but the security personnel allegedly manhandled them.
