AAP is incapable of development, says Manoj Tiwari
Manoj Tiwari said that the first priority of the party-ruled civic bodies would be to make city's roads free from garbage.
After a sweeping victory in the municipal polls, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said that the first priority of the party-ruled civic bodies would be to make city’s roads free from garbage in the next three months. Talking to Shashi Bhushan, Mr Tiwari said that to keep a check on corruption, major reshuffle in several departments, including the buildings wing — which is termed as most corrupt department — would be effected soon.
Q. What are the reasons behind BJP’s victory?
Municipal polls result has proved that only “Modi can do”. The AAP is incapable to develop Delhi. It is clear that the people of Delhi are fed up with the negativity and lies spread by Arvind Kejriwal. They have shown faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda and policies. Party president Amit Shah’s strategy and the hard work of BJP workers together facilitated the historic victory. We believe that the civic bodies have worked hard, but not up to the benchmark set by the BJP and its only due to obstacles created by the state government.
Q. CM Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP are blaming the EVMs for their poll defeat. What do you think of their allegations?
Mr Kejriwal is a man with a “destructive mind” and had captured power by cheating. Mr Kejriwal was elected with a massive mandate and is expected to work towards the development of the city.
Tourists come to visit the Qutub Mi-nar and other historic places, but because of his daily confrontation it has become a centre of negativity. To reclaim their city, Delhiites have given a massive mandate to the BJP.
Q. Is it referendum against Mr Kejriwal?
Tiwari: Absolutely. We never called it referendum against him, but he and party termed it vote for or against Kejriwal government. After the result accepting the people verdict he should immediately resign from his post.
