New Delhi: In a major exercise aimed at instilling nationalism among youth and wooing war veterans, the BJP youth wing will be roping in the beneficiaries of the OROP to spread the message of nationalism. All BJP youth wing state unit presidents will be handed over the national flag by war veterans in Delhi on August 9, who will further camp in their states to create awareness about the sacrifice of army men since independence.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president and Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North Central Poonam Mahajan told this newspaper that the programme will be launched on the occasion of 75 years of ‘Quit India’ movement in the national capital which will end on August 15.

“A lot has changed in these 70 years in our country and our youngsters are not aware. During the campaign, BJYM workers will travel across the country with national flags and talks to youngsters about the rich cultural and history of India. They will talk about nationalism and other current issues,” said Ms Mahajan.

As per the plan, on August 9 in a major programme, veterans will hand over flags to 40 state unit heads of the BJYM in Delhi. The national flags have been handed over to the state unit which will travel across the length and breadth of their respective states and cover all the districts of the country.

The BJP youth wing has planned to reach out to the youth with the agenda a week ahead of ‘Independence Day’.

“The BJYM workers and veterans will explain to the people the benefits of the OROP among the masses . Rivals have tried to spread misconceptions about the OROP but we along with the war veterans will clear all doubts during the period,” added Ms Mahajan.
