High security at airport, Metro, NCR border area

New Delhi: As tensions escalated between India and Pakistan, security arrangements were tightened at all the major installations, including Pakistan embassy, Delhi airport, Delhi Metro and high footfall areas of the national capital on Wednesday.

Earlier, the police top brass were asked by Delhi police commissioner Amulya Patnaik to keep a strict vigil in their respective areas.
“As advised by security agencies, red alert has been imposed in entire DMRC netwok from 6 pm onwards on Wednesday. Under red alert, all station controllers are required to inspect entire station premises for any suspicious items/activity including parking lots and report to the control centre every two hours,” said the DMRC official.
Earlier on Wednesday, the flight operations were hit by the ongoing tension which forced to cancel a total of 47 flights that include 25 departures and 22 arrivals at IGI airport in Delhi.
The Delhi police have instructed the force to remain on high alert and step up the security in the busy market places.
