New Delhi: Scores of people were allegedly duped by a fake company on the pretext of giving interest under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana in Anand Vihar. The bogus company used to arrange meetings in five star hotels to fleece the prospective investors.

Police said the fraud came to light after a teacher was allegedly duped at the hands of the company recently. According to the complainant, the company duped gullible customers by offering housing schemes in the name of the Prime Minister’s Office. The complainant, identified as Ajay Kumar, a teacher in a nagar nigam school, stated that one of his relatives introduced him to one Yashpal, who had an office at Karkardooma Community Centre.

He further charged that after meeting Yashpal, he was told that the latter had a big company by the name of BSDB Group and that the company was running several projects under the PMKVY. The man also told Mr Ajay that the company had 300 centres all over India where it provided urea, housing loans, solar lights, etc. at a nominal rate. He then coaxed Mr Ajay to invest in one of the projects and be benefitted by it.

Mr Ajay, being one of the duped persons, invested over Rs 27 lakh between September and October 27.
