Targeting civic polls, NDMC, SDMC offer sops
Education committee plans installation of CCTV cameras in 60 schools, 40 smart classrooms.
New Delhi: With an eye on the upcoming civic polls, the North and South Delhi Municipal Corporation has continued to announce sops for Delhiites in their budget proposal.
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has announced construct multi-level car parking in Rajender Nagar. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), on the other hand, has announced IT-based education in its schools.
Participating in the budget discussion in NDMC’s standing committee, deputy chairman, Rajesh Bhatia informed the committee that the civic body will construct multi-level car parking for 900 cars at Rajender Nagar near Karol Bagh metro station. “The car parking would be developed with an approximate cost of Rs 92.34 crore over an area of 4,261 square metres,” said Mr Bhatia.
Presenting the budget proposal for the SDMC’s education committee, its chairman Yashpal Arya proposed introduction of web application-based education in school through which parents will be provided information on homework, attendance etc. Mr Arya further proposesd installation of CCTV cameras in 60 schools, 40 smart classrooms, audio visual system in school’s auditorium, distribution of pencil eraser, sharpener to all the three lakh students and geometry box to students studying in Class 5. He also proposed setting up a multi media library at its school in Sheikh Sarai. The health committee of the SDMC has proposed upgradation of 21 health centre.
and to strengthen health services there recruitment of 21 retired doctors on contract. Chairman health committee Meenu Panwar said that specialized unit will be opened at Poornima Sethi hospital in kalkaji with the help of Safdarjung Hospital. “Next financial year five new anti rabies vaccination center will be opened. Awareness drive will be carried out the NGOs and private path labs about cancer, diabetics and other diseases,” said Ms Panwar adding that 10 new Ayush hospital or dispensaries.
The SDMC’s environment management services committee, chairman Pawan Rathi a new waste to energy plant at existing landfill sites at Okhla and another at Badarpur. “Construction and demolition waste processing plant will be set up at Bakkarwala and Tajpur,” said Mr Rathi.
