Man kills himself, also shoots at wife in Rohini flat

New Delhi: A call made to the control room on Friday night sent cops in a tizzy after the team, who reached the spot, found a couple smeared in blood at their flat in Rohini Sector 15.

While the husband has succumbed to bullet injury, the wife is said to be critical. Preliminary probe reveals that a call was made to the Control Room informing the police about gunshots fired in a residential society. As the police reached, they found the husband dead while the wife was fighting for life and was taken to Ambedkar Hospital.

The police said that the deceased husband has been identified as Tilak Raj, 30, and was living in Sector 15’s pocket F –20. The couple was said to be living on rent. According to the police, a PCR call was made at around 8.45 pm, informing the police about a gun fire at the flat. Soon, A police team rushed to the spot and found the couple lying in pool of blood. While the husband had succumbed to injuries, the woman was still breathing. The team found pistol and bullets on the bed. The couple was rushed to Ambedkar Hospital where the woman is still said to be critical and the police are yet to record her statement.

The police suspects that it may be a case of murder/suicide, where before shooting himself, the husband shot his wife, who luckily survived and later shot himself. However, it is too early to say anything. The police has initiated the probe and are questioning the residents of the society to gather information. A case has been registered and probe is underway.
