Delhi University's admission committee is yet to decide on the agency that will conduct the entrance exams for admission to various courses in the varsity, leading to a delay in the start of the process.

New Delhi: In an attempt to make the entire admission process foolproof, the Delhi University has directed various colleges to put all academic documents and mark sheets of students applying for admission in the colleges, through a forensic test this year. The university took this decision after a meeting of the admission committee on Tuesday.

The decision has been taken in wake of reports suggesting that the students could use fake documents to get admission in various courses. In the past, the varsity had cancelled some admissions after they found that the documents submitted by the students were fake.

This decision was taken in the advent of the admission process that will commence soon. The varsity also decided to hand the colleges a list of agencies to choose from where they can get all the documents forensically checked.

The varsity is thinking about introducing smart identity cards from this year. Till now, different colleges issued different identity cards. From this year, the identity cards will look similar but have the name of the individual colleges stamped on it.
