New Delhi: A 19-year-old youth allegedly brutally murdered a six-year-old boy, wrapped the body in a sack and hid it in a bed box in Southeast Delhi. The accused, who was arrested by the Delhi police, said the reason for the brutal murder was that the minor had allegedly peeped into the bathroom while his newly-wed wife was taking shower.

The police said that the incident took place two days ago in Southeast Delhi’s Okhla Phase-2. The boy had mysteriously gone missing from the last two days and was found murdered in a sack hidden in the bed box of the accused. The police said that the assailant had gagged the boy.

The murder came to light on Friday morning when the neighbours complained of a strong stench emanating from the nearby house and called the police. The accused has been identified as Rohit. He had recently got married and was the neighbour of the deceased boy.

According to the police, the accused suspected the victim of peeping into their bathroom. The boy had gone missing while playing outside his house on Wednesday evening. He lived with his parents and two elder brothers in Jeevan Jyoti Rajeev camp.

“We got the room opened, thinking it was a dead rat. But when the bed box was opened, we saw a sack inside. The boy’s hands and head were visible in it. His mouth was tied with a black cloth,” said a neighbour.

During questioning, Rohit told the police that the boy ogled at his newly-wedded wife while she was bathing and made lewd comments. Rohit said that the boy kept peeping into his bathroom to see his wife take bath. Enraged at this, Rohit attacked the boy and ended up killing him.

He also told the police that the boy’s father had also abused him once in front of his wife.

Asked if he sexually assaulted the boy, Rohit replied in the negative, the police said.

“His head hit the edge of the bed. On seeing him bleed, Rohit panicked and wrapped a cloth around his face. He then put the body in a bed box to hide it,” said a police officer.

The boy’s father, who works as a small-time contractor, said he was not aware of anyone bearing ill-feelings for his son.

The jurisdictional police has registered a case in this connection.
