Mr Baijal asked the police force to make its website more interactive and user-friendly, and analyse the emerging crime trends on a regular basis.
The directions were issued at a review meeting on city law and order situation, which he chaired.

“The LG directed that the quality of investigation, especially in the cases related to women, be improved with higher focus on collection of scientific evidence in a systematic and time-bound manner, so as to ensure fool-proof detection and prosecution,” an statement from the LG’s office stated.
Mr Baijal directed that action against those indulging in illegal sale of liquor and other violations related to alcohol be shared with excise department for a multi-pronged action against violators, it said.
“The LG also stressed the work of lighting of dark spots be completed within a time frame in active coordination with police, principal secretary (PWD) and the three DMCs,” the statement read.
