Mercury climbs four notches above normal temperature

Delhi witnessed the hottest day of the season on Wed when the mercury levels at Palam observatory recorded a scorching to 40.6° Celsius.

New Delhi: The capital continued to witness above normal temperature with Friday posting the city registering four notches above the normal temperature for this year of the season. 

While the maximum temperature was posted at 3 6.2° Celsius, the minimum was at 20° Celsius, two notches above normal, on Friday. 

Delhi witnessed the hottest day of the season on Wednesday when the mercury levels at Palam observatory recorded a scorching to 40.6° Celsius. 

In fact, the Safdarjung observatory also saw the maximum at 38.6° Celsius. 

However, the mercury levels have dropped since then and are expected to drop further during this weekend. According to the weather forecast, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34° and 18° Safdarjung on both on Saturday and Sunday.
