6 injured after sand dumper hits cab on Delhi's NH-24

New Delhi: Six people were injured after a sand-laden dumper hit their cab on National Highway 24 on May 30, the police said.

The cab was going towards Kapashera when a traffic police personnel signalled the driver to stop the vehicle, they said. While the driver was stopping the car, the dumper hit the cab from behind and overturned.

The sand loaded in the dumper fell on the cab, the police said, adding rescue operation lasted for over an hour.

This caused a severe jam on the Delhi-Gurgaon route.

The injured have been identified as cab driver Mohd Umar (25), Sanjay Kumar (38), Dukhi Mehto (77), his wife Parmeshwari Devi (75), Akhilesh (26) and Sunita (46), the police said, adding they are undergoing treatment at hospital and their condition is stable.
