2-yr-old girl kidnapped by man at New Delhi Railway Station, rescued

A woman waiting in the main hall of Ajmeri Gate complained that her daughter was missing, following which RPF notified the staff on duty.

New Delhi: A two-year-old girl, allegedly kidnapped by a man, was rescued, the police said on Monday.

The incident came to light on July 29, after a woman, who was waiting in the main hall of Ajmeri Gate of the New Delhi Railway Station, complained that her daughter had gone missing, a police officer said.

Subsequently, she informed the Railway Protection Force staff at the Baggage Scanner machine, who immediately flashed the message on Walkie Talkie to all the staff on duty.

Police found a man moving suspiciously with a baby girl near the auto stand at Ajmeri Gate. Subsequently, he was detained. The accused had been taken into custody, the police said.

A case has been registered. Further investigation is underway, they added.
