NEW DELHI: As the admissions in the Delhi University are in full swing, the election fever has also gripped the varsity. Posters, banners and even help desks of candidates, who are willing to contest the DUSU as well as college union elections, are visible all over the North Campus area.

It all starts with helping the freshers by arranging the required documents and even briefing them about the admission procedure, which makes the entire process easier for the newcomers. The helpdesks of the candidates and of the student wings including ABVP, NSUI and AISA, which is put up at nick and corner of every college on the campus assures the students of speedy redressal.

The candidates contesting for the college elections have geared up themselves and are leaving no stones unturned to influence the newcomers by showing extravaganza and some are even using their intellect to attract them. The latter is particularly happening in the Faculty of Law.

Aditya Pranav Dwivedi, a candidate, contesting in Law Centre 1 elections, said: “I am here to work on some basic issues that are faced by students but are lacking in the college. We will fix the current library timings which is not suitable for everyone and organise interactive sessions with the alumni so that the students and freshers can get a glimpse of the actual legal world outside the college.”

Some of the freshers, who haven’t experienced the aura during elections, are excited about the illustrious “Delhi University elections.”
