Publish monthly fees of pvt schools in newspapers'
Body: Move to help parents plan accordingly.
New Delhi: The Delhi State Public School Management Association has asked the Delhi government to publish the monthly fee of all private schools in newspapers so that the parents can admit their wards to different schools accordingly.
“The Delhi government has earlier said that there is high difference between fees of various schools and it varies from Rs 500 for some to Rs 10,000 monthly for others. The schools submit their revised fee structure every year to the government before the beginning of the next academic session and it should put it out in the newspapers for parents to be more aware and choose the schools accordingly,” said R.C. Jain, chairperson, Delhi State Public School Management Association. He also said that since there is difference between fees charged by different schools, it is not possible for schools to give similar wages as per the recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) to their staff.
“Despite that the government has asked schools to implement the recommendations of 7th CPC whereas the Justice Anil Dev committee, upon inspecting 1,150 schools, had found that 900 of them could not even implement the 6th CPC. In that case, how could the government ask them to implement 7th CPC,” he said.
The Delhi government had recently warned private unaided schools of action if they hike fee arbitrarily in the name of implementation of seventh central pay commission (CPC).
The chief minister had asked MLAs to get data regarding complaints against private schools in their area, which have increased the fees.
