Man donates 2 bldgs, plot worth Rs 32.27 crore to sai baba trust

Work on one building is undergoing with about four floors having been built, while parking is in the basement.

Nashik: A trustee of the Sai Dham Mandir Trust, Virar, has donated two Ahmednagar-based buildings with the accompanying plot worth Rs 32.27 crore to the Sai Baba Sansthan at Shirdi on Thursday. The buildings will be used to house and impart training for competitive tests to indigent and needy students. Sai Sansthan Trust’s CEO Ms R. Agrawal said in a press release that, the two plots under Sai Palkhi Niwara building B, admeasuring 2,633.76 square metres (sq.m.), and building D, admeasuring 7187.68 sq.m., totalling 9782.44 sq.m. was donated by a Kashinath Govind Patil. This property in gate no. 177 is situated in Mauje Nighoj, Rahata tehsil of Ahmednagar district and is located at about 3 km from the Sai Temple, sources said.

The donor, Kashinath Govind Patil, is a resident of Kopri village in Vasai tehsil of Palghar district and is a trustee of the Sai Dham Mandir Trust in Virar. The buildings presently functions as Sai Palkhi Niwara (resting accommodation for foot pilgrims). The donation deed was handed over to the CEO and laid at the feet of Sai Baba’s idol in the Shirdi Temple.

Poor, needy, economically backward and adivasi students will study for competitive tests such as the MPSC and UPSC etc. and will receive guidance from IAS officials. Sai Sansthan will be managing the property and the training, sources said Mr Patil had forwarded his proposal to donate the property during a Sansthan trustees’ meeting held in Shirdi on December 22, 2016. Sansthan president Dr Suresh Havare presided the meeting and the proposal was accepted.
