Boy thrashed in Gurgaon school, teacher booked

The boy was taken to a private hospital, where he regained his senses about two hours later.

Gurgaon: A Class 10 student of a private school was admitted to a hospital after was allegedly beaten up by his sports teacher on campus in Gurgaon’s Sector 75. The student suffered head injuries.

The family alleged that the teacher hit the 15-year-old in the neck before banging his head against a wooden bench during the school hours, around 2pm. The boy was taken to a private hospital, where he regained his senses about two hours later.

His father later filed a complaint against the teacher with the police, but no arrest has been made as of now.  

The police said the student had fainted allegedly after his teacher thrashed him in a fit of rage. The teacher had apparently got angry as the student was allegedly hooting inside the school.

The boy was rushed to the hospital in unconscious state. Though he has regained consciousness and is stable now. “We have kept him under medical supervision,” said a senior doctor of Ekta Hospital.

Attempts to contact the school authorities proved futile. An FIR has been registered against the sports teacher under sections 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

“The boy and his family claimed that his sports teacher had hit him badly, causing severe pain in his neck. As per the complaint, a case has been filed and are investigating the matter,” said a Gurugram police official.
