Police will take action in cases of violence: CM Fadnavis

He said that police is taking action as per provision 151 (3) used for dacoity which is wrong and we are condemning it.

Nagpur: The police will not take action against the farmers who are agitating peacefully as a part of the ongoing milk producers’ agitation but the will not spare anyone who is found responsible for violence, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis clarified in the legislative assembly on Wednesday.

Leader of assembly, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil raised the issue and claimed that the government is using police force against farmers who protesting peacefully. He said that police is taking action as per provision 151 (3) used for dacoity which is wrong and we are condemning it.

Responding to it Mr Fadnavis said that violence took place in last few days wherein tankers were burned and action will be taken in such cases. However, if police has wrongfully taken action against peaceful agitators, then it would be withdrawn.
