The duo was arrested by the Anti-corrruption Bureau in two separate cases on Friday.

Nashik: The secretary of Chandwad APMC was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for accepting a bribe of Rs 24,000 in Chandwad town of Nashik district while the ACB similarly trapped an assistant regional manager of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Dhule for accepting a bribe of Rs 9,800 on Friday.

ACB sources said that the Chandwad APMC secretary Goraksnath Nyrutti Gangurde had demanded Rs 24,000 bribe from a waterproofing contractor for passing his bills and a certificate of recommendation. The contractor contacted the ACB, and Gangurde was caught while accepting the amount at the APMC office on Friday.

In another case, MIDC Dhule Assistant regional manager Suresh Chaitram Patil had demanded Rs 11,800 from the complainant for drawing maps and word processing of a factory plot.

The factory owner then bargained with Patil and brought down the bribe amount to Rs 9800 and called the ACB which laid a trap. Patil was caught accepting the amount in his office on Friday.

Further investigations are underway.
