Deputy Commander US-Indo Pacific Command visits Fort William
SS Birdi said that they held meaningful discussions on various important regional and global security related issues concerning the two countries.
Kolkata: A five-member US delegation led by deputy commander, US-Indo Pacific Command of the US Army Lieutenant General Bryan P. Fenton visited Fort William, the headquarters of the Eastern Command on Friday.
As part of his three-day visit to India Lt Gen Fenton also called on General Officer Commanding-in Chief of the Eastern Command Lt Gen Abhay Krishna there.
They held meaningful discussions on various important regional and global security related issues concerning the two countries, chief public relations officer (Eastern Command) Wing Commander SS Birdi said.
He added that the visit of the senior US Army officer to the Eastern Command signifies the growing strategic partnership between the two leading armies of the world who are also important partners in bilateral training.
The meeting was aimed at further strengthening defence cooperation existing between the two nations to fight unitedly in the global war on terrorism, Wing Commander Birdi mentioned.
