Gurung has slammed the attack on me: Dilip Ghosh
Mr Ghosh said, I told him: you were beaten for four months. But I became target only once. Democracy in Darjeeling is very crucial.
Kolkata: A day after he was heckled by the followers of expelled Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader Binay Tamang in Darjeeling, state BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Friday claimed that elusive GJM chief Bimal Gurung called him and criticised the attack.
Mr Ghosh said, “I told him: you were beaten for four months. But I became target only once. Democracy in Darjeeling is very crucial.”
According to Mr Ghosh, he neither wants to meet Mr Gurung nor he knows the GJM chief’s whereabouts. He added, “The GJM is being maligned on the pretext of carrying out attacks with the help of miscreants. It is not that Binay Tamang is involved in it. Its done from Nabanna. Some leaders have been bought to increase the power of Trinamul Congress in the hills in place of the Gorkhas.”
Accusing Mr Ghosh of fomenting trouble Trinamul secretary general Partha Chatterjee declared that the ruling party would hit the streets on Saturday against the BJP’s ploy to create unrest in the Hills. “We will organise protest rallies and burn effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 1 pm to 2 pm on Saturday. The central government is helping the divisive forces in the Hills.” he alleged.
