Two charred to death in Narela factory fire

The two deceased have been identified as Kuldeep (25) and Vinay (30), both hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

New Delhi: A major fire broke out in a plastic shoe factory in DSIIDC (Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation) at Bhorgarh, Narela. Two employees, who were in deep slumber, were burnt alive. 

The two deceased have been identified as Kuldeep (25) and Vinay (30), both hailing from Uttar Pradesh. The police said that it was a major fire that broke out in a plastic shoe factory on late Friday night. The fire had broken out on the first floor. At the time of the incident there were other labourers working on the ground floor. Preliminary probe revealed that over 15 labourers were working when the fire spread on the first floor.

Police further said that the deceased were sleeping and were burnt alive. It is learnt that after finishing their shift, the duo used to usually sleep inside the factory itself. An official from the fire and emergency services said that a call was received about the incident and soon eight fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire fighters doused the fire, but later learnt that two labourers had burnt to death. Their bodies were sent to Baba Ambedkar Hospital with the help of the local police for post mortem. An inquest into the same has been ordered.
