TMC to intensify anti-Modi protests

The TMC secretary general also expressed his concern over the deaths of so many people across the country linked to demonetisation.

Kolkata: Trinamul Congress supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday again hit out at the Narendra Modi government at the Centre claiming that the most corrupt people are talking about removing corruption. "The most corrupt people are talking about removing corruption.The arrogant and destructive attitude of this Government. is trying to destroy the world's largest democracy," the Trinamul supremo wrote on her Twitter page.

At the same time, her party secretary general Partha Chatterjee announced that TMC will again take to the streets and organise meetings and rallies at the block level for three days in the coming week demanding withdrawal of demonetisation. "There will be meetings and rallies at every district blocks on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in all the districts to show our protest and demanding immediate withdrawal of demonestisation. It will be the protest of the common people against the black decision of Naredra Modi government as they have been the worst sufferers," Mr Chatterjee said.

Mr Chatterjee added that situation is growing worse with people unable to draw money from banks due to non availability of notes. "Crores of rupees are being   spent by the central government for adverstisements but still there are no banks in a number of villages," he said.

The TMC secretary general also expressed his concern over the deaths of so many people across the country linked to demonetisation and said that curtialment of staffs by various companies have already started due to demonetisation.
