Sovan Chatterjee files complaint on wife again over residence
He had earlier lodged 2 complaints with the police station against Ms Chatterjee accusing her of trespassing.
Kolkata: Heavyweight Trinamul Congress minister and Kolkata mayor Sovan Chatterjee has lodged another complaint with the police alleging that his estranged wife Ratna Chatterjee may take control of his new residence with the help of miscreants. He has sought protection. On Monday morning Mr Chatterjee lodged the complaint with the Rabindra Sarobar police station.
He had earlier lodged two complaints with the Parnashree police station against Ms Chatterjee accusing her of trespassing with the help of her friend at his original residence there. Asked about his fresh complaint Mr Chatterjee said, “To avoid a controversy I walked out of my parental residence as I became mentally devastated due to a domestic trouble. I did not change my clothes even.”
Pointing fingers on Ms Chatterjee he added, “Since then I have been staying at a flat in Rabindra Sarobar area. I filed the complaint seeking my rights to live in peace and to get proper security because I am feeling insecured. No one can snatch my right to stay in peace at a new address without disturbing anyone.” Rejecting his version Ms Chatterjee however alleged, “The flat where he stays now is owned by my brother Subhashis.”
She claimed, “He is living there with his permission. He perhaps feels that my brother may ask him to vacate the flat. He is bound to leave if he is served a legal notice. But we are yet to look at it that way. I can not understand why he imagined that I would grab the flat with the help of miscreants.” In November the Trinamool minister filed a separation case against Ms Chatterjee before moving to his new address.
His move came following a rift with her after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned and questionned Ms Chatterjee to know about the cash allegedly received her husband in the Narada sting operation case as Mr Chatterjee had reportedly claimed to the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation that it was his wife who maintained his income details.
