Opposition slams Trinamul Congress for Bhangor murder
Banerjee masterminded the incident in Bhangor, says Mukul Roy.
Kolkata: The BJP and CPI(M) have accused Trinamul supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee of calling the shots behind the murder of Hafizul Mollah at Bhangor in South 24 Parganas on Friday.
On Saturday state BJP president Dilip Ghosh alleged in Alipurduar, “Didimoni made a drama in catching Arabul. But people like Arabul and Monirul are her assets. Her party will cease to exist if these people are caught and put behind bars. Arabul’s arrest is an eyewash.”
He added, “Whatever was to happen from looting to killing has happened. Now attempts are being made to win the hearts of the people ahead of the panchayat elections. The vice of such kind of violence will not be cleaned. So she should think the people as fools. The people have seen it lot. Now they will show it.”
At East Midnapore BJP leader Mukul Roy claimed, “Ms Banerjee masterminded the incident in Bhangor. She earlier declared that the powergrid would not be built to respect the views of the villagers. Now she has taken a turn of 180 degrees calling for the powergrid there.”
He complained, “That is why she has engaged Arabul so that people leave the area due to violence. The murder was carried out on Ms Banerjee’s order, arrest was made on her instruction and the accused will be freed on her order.”
At a rally to condemn the killing CPI(M) state secretary Surjyakanta Mishra alleged, “The chief minister knew everything. Had not the accused have her blessings, no one would have dared to kill anyone there.”
