CID recovers 19 Odisha kids
The latest recovery of the minors was the part of the Operation MuskanIII held in between July 1 and July 31 this year.
Kolkata: Thirteen boys and six girls of Odisha were recovered from different parts of the state by the Odisha criminal investigation department (CID) with the help of the West Bengal CID.
West Bengal CID’s deputy inspector general (operation) Nishat Parvez said, “The team visited various districts of West Bengal since July 27 and recovered the children from various shelter homes of West Midnapore, Purulia, Bardhaman, Howrah and Kolkata.”
Mr Parvez added that the Odisha CID team produced the 19 children before the child welfare committees before taking them to Odisha in a train from Howrah on Sunday afternoon.
The latest recovery of the minors was the part of the Operation Muskan—III held in between July 1 and July 31 this year. According to the state CID, a total of 818 children were recovered from different places in the state as well as other states. Out of them, 557 kids were handed over to their respective families, while 261 children have been kept at the shelter homes for their accommodation, the CID informed in a statement.
