App on shopping spots in city launched

With a longer support cycle, Google's Android phones could start seeing a bit of favour from those who are willing to jump to Android from iOS or other smartphone platforms.

Kolkata: A unique application - QOIE- offering information about shopping destinations has been launched in the city. It has a list of malls, markets and Hi-Street stores under a common platform to reach the consumers with authentic and location-wise information for the consumers and retailers.

Launched for iOS and Android users, this app, QOIE, launched by Laranya Infoedge Pvt. Ltd, has already a list of over 1.5 lakh retailers stocking 400 plus national brands. It aims to cover 35 cities across India by 2019.

QOIE offers browsing of across 22 various categories-antiques and collectibles, beauty and health, books and stationery, cameras, audio and video, car and motorbike, clothing and accessories, eyecare, florist, food and gourmet, footwear, gift shops, handbags, luggage and travel, home and kitchen, laptops, desktops and peripherals, mobiles, tablets and accessories, movies, music and video games, office equipments and security, pets and pet Supplies, religious materials, sports, fitness and outdoors, toys and baby products and watches and jewellery.

Siddhant Agarwal, vice president, M&A, Rupa & Co. Ltd said, “We have already earmarked '5 crores for taking QOIE national very soon.”
