Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Trinamul Congress MP of Barasat Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar in connection with the Narada sting operation case at her residence in Madhyamgram of North 24 Parganas on Friday morning. Dr Ghosh Dastidar however claimed that no CBI team visited her.

After failing to contact her repeatedly over phone, the CBI had served her summons through email on Thursday, asking her to appear at the anti-corruption branch office next week. The Trinamul MP reportedly told the CBI of her failure to appear and suggested she may face them if a team was sent to her residence.

At around 1.20 pm on Friday, a three-member CBI team including a female officer visited the Trinamul MP's residence on Badu Road, according to sources, adding that they grilled her for the next four hours and recorded her statement before she was allowed to leave.

With Dr Ghosh Dastidar, the CBI has so far grilled two Trinamul MPs and a Trinamul MLA in the case.

Dr Ghosh Dastidar however vehemently denied that a CBI team visited or questioned her. “Who came here? No one...no one is here. There is a playground where the kids are playing. Others are watching it,” she angrily told journalists later.

Dr Ghosh Dastidar said, “Why are you spreading false information? Leave right now. You can see I am standing here. These youths are from my
locality.”

They brought the teams to play a match for harmony here. It is a Trinamul Chhatra Parishad Samprity Cup. What your are doing is confusing the public.”

She added, “Why are you doing this? I just came out after hearing such rumours. I do not come out of home this way.” Meanwhile, the CBI served a notice to Mohammedan Sporting Club following revelations by Trinamul MP Sultan Ahmed and his brother and Trinamul MLA Iqbal Ahmed during their questioning.

While Sultan is the club president, his brother is the honorary football secretary. Both claimed that the cash accepted by them were donated to the club, sources added. The CBI asked club officials to appear with the financial documents next week.
