West Bengal: Flight-attendant body found in a pool of blood
Preliminary investigation revealed that Clara fell off the window which has sliding glass.
Kolkata: Mystery shrouded the death of an air-hostess of a private airline after she “fell” from her flat following a birthday party celebration in Kestopur in the early hours of Wednesday. Clara Bansharai Khongsit (23), the air-hostess, was posted as lead cabin attendant of Indigo. She was originally from Shillong.
Two of her friends have been detained by the police for questioning. At around 4 am Clara was found lying dead in a pool of blood in front of a housing apartment at Prafulla Kanan of Nonapukur where she stayed at a flat on the third floor. She was declared brought dead at a hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Clara fell off the window which has sliding glass. Whether she committed suicide or she fell down accidentally or whether she was pushed to death is not yet clear, according to the police. Probing her death the cops found that she had thrown a party on the occasion of one of her friends at her flat late on Tuesday night.
They have also found evidence of consumption of liquor. Clara’s two friends including a young woman visited her flat at around 1.30 am. Both are from North East. It was the birthday of one of them, sources revealed adding that both however stayed at the flat after the celebration which means Clara’s death took place in their presence. When a police team visited her flat, it was locked from inside.
After a knock one of the two youth opened the door. Both were in drunken state, a police officer said adding that beer bottles were found inside the flat. The air-hostess used to stay at the flat on rent since June this year after getting the job at the private airline.
Local residents said that she used to return home around mid-night in most days due to her job. Her friends also frequented her flat. A youth from a nearby eatery used to deliver food to Clara daily. The body was sent for post-mortem. The police is not ruling out the possibility of a love-triangle behind Clara’s death.
