Apollo top official to meet Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: Apollo Hospitals executive vice-chairperson Preetha Reddy may meet chief minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting is significant as the Apollo Hospital has been under the scanner following the death of Sanjoy Roy of Dankuni, who died of alleged medical negligence last month.

Rupali Basu, Group chief executive officer (eastern region) had also resigned on March 2 over the controversy. Meanwhile, Roy’s wife Ruby Roy met chief minister’s nephew and Trinamul Congress MP Abhisekh Banerjee on Saturday. Ms Roy has been offered a job in the tourism department on Thursday. “He assured me of all possible help,” she said.
