Roy blasts food minister, calls him minor boy
According to him, Mr Mullick, who is a Trinamul MLA from Habra, is still new in North 24 Parganas.
Kolkata: BJP leader Mukul Roy on Saturday described food supplies minister Jyotipriyo Mullick as a ‘minor boy’ for taking potshots at him.
While announcing his exit from the Trinamul Congress earlier, he had made a similar remark about Trinamul secretary general and education minister Partha Chatterjee.
“I will not reply to what a minor boy said. He is a kid still. I will comment on someone with importance at the right place at the right time,” Mr Roy claimed.
According to him, Mr Mullick, who is a Trinamul MLA from Habra, is still new in North 24 Parganas.
The former Rajya Sabha MP added that Mr Mullick’s base was in Kolkata.
On the minister’s mockery about Mr Roy’s MLA son Shubhrangshu who is still with the Trinamul, the BJP leader mentioned, “Shubhrangshu is enough matured. He has the capacity to take the right decision. It is upto him which party he would like to continue with.”
On Friday, Mr Mullick claimed that no one would ever come to know Mr Roy had Trinamul supremo and chief minister Mamata Banerjee not rallied support behind him. He said, “He has no skill. So his exit will not affect the Trinamul anyway. If his son follows him, there will be no problem.”
