One injured in TMC intra-party clash
According to sources, there been a long-standing political fight between Iman Biswas and Zakir Hussain group over the bidi industries.
Berhampore: An intra-party clash broke out in twin villages — Mahaladarpara and Raghunathpur between TMC supporters of state minister Jakir Hussain and former Suti TMC MLA Imani Biswas group on Saturday morning.
One TMC supporter, Ajibur Rahaman belonging to the Imani Biswas group received a bullet injury and was admitted to the Murshidabad medical college hospital.
Both the leader’s supporters were armed and the clash continued for several hours before the police took control, said sources. Also, there was indiscriminate firing and bombing from both the sides.
“We have detained five miscreants and 30 crude bombs have been seized from the spot,” said SP Murshidabad, Mukhesh.
According to sources, there been a long-standing political fight between Iman Biswas and Zakir Hussain group over the bidi industries. Also, this is not the first such fight between the two groups. Azibur Rahaman complained that he was totally innocent and was returning from Aurangabad market when five armed miscreants shot him in his abdomen. The TMC workers in Suti complained that they were badly attacked by none other than Jangipur TMC workers supported by the minister’s group.
However, both the warring leaders remained tight-lipped over the issue. The top TMC brass refused to comment on the same.
