4 per cent growth in Eastern Railway, says report
The Eastern Railway has witnessed growth in passenger traffic and earnings during the first quarter of the current financial year.
Kolkata: The Eastern Railway has witnessed growth in passenger traffic and earnings during the first quarter of the current financial year. In a statement it informed on Friday that it recorded a growth of 4.19 per cent during April to September in the passenger revenue which is the highest amongst all zonal railways.
“In the suburban segment, the growth of passenger traffic has gone up by 2.75 per cent during April to September 2017, which is second best over other zones of Indian Railways.
It may be mentioned here that the achievement of passenger traffic is the best ever of last five years and achievement of passenger earnings is the best ever of last four years,” the ER said. Meanwhile to create awareness among all the passengers so as they don’t fall prey to the touts and aslo the purchase journey ticket from the counters by their producing own identity.
