On Friday morning, the body of Sheikh Sameer was found lying in an abandoned hospital at Pankhatuli.
He was last seen with Sheikh Patal, known to be a drug-addict in the area, on the night of Kali Puja. Sameer however did not return home. Local residents searched for him leading to the recovery of the body in a room of the hospital.
According to them, the surrounding areas of Hooghlyghat railway station have become a den of drug-peddlers. The body was sent for post-mortem.
