Cabinet nod for first private township project

It will have outdoor kitchens and its own golf course or squash courts, all bundled into a premium club offering.

Kolkata: The first private township project adjoining New Town at Rajarhat recently got the provisional nod from the state Cabinet. The project, which is to be implemented by M/s Forum Properties Holding Pvt Ltd, will share a common boundary with the Eco-Urban Village at Jagdishpur mouza that comes under the planning area of New Town Kolkata Development Authority. The anchor theme of the township will be “Innovative Township”, and it will come up on 80 acres of land. The NKDA has been advised by the state government ro issue a provisional certificate for the development of the township, subject to the payment of necessary fees and the compliance of statutory obligations. “We will be extending all possible assistance to the private company for the township project. They will be preparing the project report and the final nod will be given after examining it,” a top NKDA official said.

Forum Projects, one of the leading real estate developers in India, is setting up “Atmosphere”, an Rs 800-crore luxury residential condominium project off Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, less than 500 metres from the Science City. It is being touted as a new architectural icon for India. It consists of two tall towers, which will be the tallest in Kolkata. The towers will feature villas with large private terraces and gardens for each unit. “Atmosphere” will also have a home automation system where all elements, such as climate and light, can be controlled. It will also have centralised water heating system and customised roof top gardens. Further, it will have outdoor kitchens and its own golf course or squash courts, all bundled into a premium club offering.
