Woman found dead in Chetla hotel room

Kolkata: A woman was found dead at a guest house in Chetla on Sunday afternoon. Her boyfriend was caught while trying to escape the spot. The deceased Megha Bhajak, in her early twenties, was a resident of Liluah in Howrah. According to police, she was in an affair with a youth Mohammed Miraj Ali also from Liluah for the last three years. 

Their affair was known to their families, sources claimed. Megha was a student of Bachelor of Computer Application at a college in Bowbazar where Miraj is also a student. At around 1.30 pm they checked in to room of 402 in Alipore Guest House. Within an hour, Megha however fell ill and started bleeding profusely. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.  The body has been sent for post-mortem. Miraj was caught by the workers of the guest house. He was later handed over to the police. The youth was detained and was questioned by the police. Deputy commissioner of police (south) Praveen Kumar Tripathy visited Chetla police station. A red trolley was recovered from the hoetl room. An unnatural death case has been initiated.  

In another incident, a home guard of the Kolkata police was found hanging at home under mysterious circumstances in Baguiati on Sunday morning. The deceased, Rakesh Tiwari, was a resident of a housing apartment in KC Block of Ashwininagar. He committed suicide, the police suspect. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
