Life term to two for teacher's murder

Kolkata: A local court in Malda on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to two persons  for killing a lady teacher in April 2011 through a parcel bomb explosion at English Bazar in Malda.

Prince Ghosh and Rajkumar Rishi were sentenced after being convicted under sections 302 (murder), 201 (tampering with evidence) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

The victim Aparna Biswas (30), a teacher with Ramkinkar Balika Vidyalaya, used to live in a rented house at Malanchapally. She had opened the parcel delivered at her place around 12 noon on April 25, 2011 and died in the explosion on the spot. The sleuths had got leads after interrogating the courier agent that the parcel was booked from Gajole on April 22.

The police traced the phone number to one the accused, Prince Ghosh, of Mangalbari under Malda police station. Prince had a fallout with Aparna after thier relationship turned sour.
