Kolkata: State BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Sunday accused the Trinamul Congress government of using the police to tackle the BJP workers. According to him, the use of police against the BJP would lead to a law and order problem in the state.

“A wholenight raid was conducted across the district. I have been here and so I have got all the information. It is very unfortunate. The police has been using its all strength to stop the BJP,” he claimed at a press meet at Asansol on his way to visit Purulia for a party programme.

Lashing out at the Mamata Banerjee government Mr Ghosh alleged, “It seems the Trinamul now have no option other than using the police. Earlier the miscreants were used. But they have stopped coming forward in fear.”

The BJP Kharagpur MLA added, “Now the police have been asked to take up the role so that they would have a clash with us. A number of our party functionneries has been arrested by the police over the clash. I do not know whether it would escalate further or not.”

In a veiled warning he cautioned, “If they have thought they would stop the BJP by force then they are committing a mistake. As a result a law and order problem will erupt across West Bengal.”
