Sudip Bandopadhyay defies CBI summons again
CBI is now planning to send another notice to Mr Bandopadhyay, according to sources.
Kolkata: Trinamul Congress parliamentary party leader in Lok Sabha Sudip Bandopadhyay once again defied the Central Bureau of Investigation’s summons on Monday and stayed away from appearing before the officers at the office in CGO Complex in Salt Lake.
He was supposed to appear before the CBI in response to the notice sent last week to both his home and office address to appear for questionning in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
The CBI is now planning to send another notice to Mr Bandopadhyay, according to sources. On December 20, the agency had sent its first summons to him, asking him to appear either next day or on December 22 to record his statement.
Mr Bandopadhyay, however, defied the summons after chief minister and his party’s supremo Mamata Banerjee reacted sharply while accusing the Narendra Modi government of indulging in vindictive politics in order to intimidate her and her party leaders.
