West Bengal CM reviews govt's feats, slams BJP's celebrations
Banerjee was sworn in as chief minister for the second time on the same day last year.
Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday hit out at the ongoing three-year celebrations of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and highlighted the achievements of her own government which also celebrated its sixth anniversary recently.
Addressing a government programme at the state secreteriat Nabanna, the chief minister said, “Could we not have celebrated the occasion with such pomp and grandeur? We don’t need to publicise our work by beating drums, tabla and ‘jhumjhumi’ (plaything of a baby). I feel that statistics will speak for themselves.”
Ms Banerjee was sworn in as chief minister for the second time on the same day last year. She launched a book to mark the occasion as a testimony to the achievements of the work done by her government.
