Street show held to improve rural lives

Kolkata: Kolkata society for cultural heritage, a social organisation working to improve the lives of rural people in several sectors like education, health and sanitation among others, held its first-ever street show “Koli-Culture” at Patuli Lake side area on Saturday evening.

A group of young talented musicians performed in front of street audience which appreciated the splendid collaboration of Bengali folk and commercial music.

It went to another level when audience started participating one by one.

Kolkata society for cultural heritage president Sourav Mukherjee said, “Our motive is to provide a non-profit platform for young talented musicians of Kolkata. We have a plan to continue the event on a regular basis at different parts of Kolkata with the live performances, including live painting and exhibition as well.”

He added, “We are also working to foster the socio-economical structure by using different livelihood generating methods.

Currently, we are operational at East Midnapur, West Midnapur, Hooghly, Nadia, and South-24-Parganas.

To promote our traditional culture and art forms we give the non-profit platforms to our poor artists.”
