Critically ill Dwijen is admitted to hospital

Kolkata: Eminent singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay has been admitted to SSKM Hospital after he fell ill again at home. He has been kept under observation at the intensive care unit of the state government-run sup-er-speciality hospital.

The nonagenarian singer was suffering from chest infection for quite sometime. At around 11 am his family members rushed him to SSKM after he complained of illness. A medical board has been set up for his treatment, where a couple of medical tests conducted on him during the day.

Medical superintendent-cum-vice principal of the hospital Raghunath Mishra informed that Mr Mukhopadhyay has been suffering from fever and cough apart from age old related ailments. His condition is stable now.

Last month Mr Mukhopadhyay was admitted to SSKM from where he was released after few days’ of treatment. In 2010, he was awarded Padmabhushan by the Central government.
