Raj Thackeray to launch Vidarbha tour from October 17
He will address the first rally of Vidarbha in Amaravati on October 17.
Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will start his Vidarbha tour from October 17. Mr Thackeray is on a four-month tour of Maharashtra to re-energize his cadre ahead of general and Assembly elections.
He will address the first rally of Vidarbha in Amaravati on October 17. This region is the bastion of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it has won 44 out of 62 Assembly seats in this region.
This is his last leg of statewide tour, which started from May 1. He visited all tehsils in Konkan, North Maharashtra, West Maharashtra and Marathwada by far. This time, he has kept it low profile and did not address many rallies. Instead, Mr Thackeray is meeting his leaders as well as people in every tehsil.
MNS has faced debacle in 2014 Assembly elections. Though vote share has decreased from 5.07 per cent in 2009 to 3.08 per cent in 2014, the count of his MLAs have also decreased from 13 to just one.
