MahaRERA pulls up MHADA for non-compliance

The Asian Age is in possession of the notice sent by the MahaRERA where it has warned Mhada to fulfil the compliance immediately.

Over 34 projects of the housing authority were registered, but a notice by RERA mentioned that nearly 10 projects have serious lapses in terms of compliance.

Mumbai: In a first, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has pulled up the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) over non-compliance of certain norms while registering their projects on the authority’s website. Over 34 projects of the housing authority were registered, but a notice by RERA mentioned that nearly 10 projects have serious lapses in terms of compliance.  

The Asian Age is in possession of the notice sent by the MahaRERA where it has warned Mhada to fulfil the compliance immediately. “It is noted that although Mhada has registered 34 projects, certain compliances have not been attended in spite of repeated e-mails. Extension of 10 projects has expired but not applied for further extension. This is serious lapse that needs to be attended immediately as these projects have lost validity,” stated the notice.

Further, it also pulled up the housing authority for providing wrong telephone numbers of Mha-da engineers resulting in pending complaint rega-rding non-compliance.
