Aurangabad: Another opulent wedding has made headlines and this time it is Bharatiya Janata Party leader Raosaheb Danve’s son Santosh whose wedding grabbed all eyeballs.
The wedding had at least 30,000 guests, including the entire state cabinet led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The ostentatious ceremony also had sleek video invites, a medieval-era palatial set, and a grand ceremony monitored using camera mounted drones by police.
Ironically, Raosaheb Danve – also the Maharashtra BJP chief – is an MLA from Marathwada’s Bhokardan, which has been drought-hit from last two years.
Santosh married Renu, who is the daughter of popular Marathi musician Rajesh Sarkate, at the Jabinda Estate lawns on Thursday.
The video invites were shared by Santosh on Facebook and was viewed by over 46,000 people.
Earlier, the daughter of Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari got married in December at Nagpur with similar pomp and show. At least 10 chartered or special flights were used to fly in VIP guests.
Another such instance was the wedding of Andhra Pradesh mining baron Gali Janardan Reddy’s daughter. Around 500 crores were allegedly spent for the ceremony, prompting the tax officials to seek an explanation of the expenditure.
