BJP MP cited the recent incident of Budgam in Kashmir where the security forces had to deal with an aggressive stone-pelting mob while being engaged in an encounter with a holed-up militant.

Thane: BJP MP from Palghar Chintaman Wanga has exhorted party workers to strive from now on so that the party wins with absolute majority in the next Maharashtra Assembly polls due in 2019.

He claimed that the BJP, which is in power at the Centre and the state, gained more confidence after the victory in Palghar zilla parishad elections held last year.

This was the start of the party's win in other parts of the state and continued even in the recent civic, zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections, Wanga said.

He was speaking at a function organised to felicitate newly elected BJP corporators in Thane city on Thursday.

Wanga asked the party workers to work towards a one-party rule in the entire district.

He said the corporators have an important role to play in meeting the needs of the city residents and assured all help from his end for the same.
