Siddhant Ganore sent to judicial custody till June 16

National College and was not doing well academically, leading to constant fights between the mother and son.

Mumbai: Siddhant Ganore, who was arrested for the murder of his mother, was remanded to judicial custody till June 16 on Friday. The remand report
states that the police have finished their interrogation of the accused and he has confessed to the crime. The clothes worn by the accused and the victim as well as the fingerprints on the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, have been sent for forensic analysis.

On May 24, 21-year-old Ganore, son of police inspector Dyaneshwar Ganore, stabbed his mother Dipali nine times and fled the scene. Siddhant, an engineering drop out had enrolled for the Bachelors of Science Degree course in

National College and was not doing well academically, leading to constant fights between the mother and son.

He had been remanded to police custody till June 2. However, on Friday, the Bandra Magistrate court remanded him to Judicial custody after the police said they did not need him anymore. “We have completed interrogating the accused and no longer need him to be present,” said a police source.

The source said the police probe would continue.
