Actress Shraddha Arya attempted the challenge

Mumbai: Actress Shraddha Arya, who stars in television serial Kundali Bhagya, Wednesday evening shared a video of herself attempting the “Kiki Challenge” on her social media account. However, she advised people not to try it as it was risky.

The “Kiki Challenge” involves dancing to Canadian rapper Drake’s hit number “In my feelings”. According to social media, the challenge requires the performer to jump out of a slow-moving car, dance to the first few lines of Drake’s track along with the moving car on the road in the middle of the traffic, and then jump back into the running car.

The Mumbai police Thursday afternoon issued an advisory on its Twitter handle not to take up the viral “Kiki Challenge” as it posed a threat to people’s safety. It tweeted, “We love your safety and can’t leave it to be decided by Kiki!”

Asked if there was any action being contemplated against Arya and other celebrities who performed the challenge, DCP (operations) Manjunath Shinge said, “We have not taken any action. We will ask the concerned police station regarding the incident and will update you on this.”

Dr Saurabh Tripathi, DCP (traffic), said, “We have already tweeted on the Twitter handle about not performing stunts like the Kiki Challenge on roads.”

Canadian rapper Drake has created the song “Kiki, do you love me?” and the “Kiki Challenge” went viral on June 30 when comedian Shiggy posted a video on Instagram where he was seen dancing to the song on a road.

Later, American footballer Odell Beckham Jr. also recorded himself dancing outside his car. Even celebrities like Will Smith have uploaded a video of them taking the challenge on top of a bridge in Budapest.
