Police quizzes Salman's bodyguard
The Khar police registered a case on October 22 to probe Shaikh's allegations.
Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera, aka Gurmeet Singh, was summoned for questioning by Khar police on Wednesday night following a complaint by activist Shabnam Shaikh (31) alleging he had threatened her of gangrape if she did not ask ex-Bigg Boss contestant Zubair Khan to withdraw his complaint against Salman Khan.
Sheikh claimed that her acquaintance, Zubair Khan had approached her for help in the case he had filed against Salman for allegedly calling him names on national television. She said she received a call on October 21 from a person claiming to be ‘Shera,’ asking her to advice Zubair Khan to withdraw the case.
The Khar police registered a case on October 22 to probe Shaikh’s allegations.
Sources said Shera was questioned for 90 minutes. In his statement given to the police, Shera said he did not know who Sheikh is and claimed to have never made a call to her. Shera also handed over his phone call records and call recordings in order to prove he had not called her. Khar police has recorded his statement in the matter and declined commenting any further on the same.
Ramchandra Jadhav, senior police inspector of Khar police station, said, “The statement has been recorded, and nothing can be drawn from his records until now,” he said.
