Fadnavis tells citizens to remain alert for security of Mumbai
Mr Bachchan also assured complete assistance to Mum-bai police in any work.
Mumbai: The Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis app-ealed to people of Mumbai to always remain alert for the security of the city. He asked people to inform police about any suspicious activity they come across. Mr Fadnavis was speaking at a ceremony held for transferring quarters to police in Santacruz. Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was also present for the ceremony.
“Police take care of the city day and night standing on the ground. They risk their lives to keep this city safe. So it is our duty to help them. After all it will be for our security,” said Mr Fadnavis. Mumbai police has received 47 homes. Mr Fadnavis handed these over to police officials on Sunday.
Talking about homes and other facilities, Mr Fadnavis said, “These flats are valued at Rs 2.5 crore each in the market. But the state government got them for just Rs 25 lakh each. Now we are working on the policy to give loans with less or even zero interest rates to police. They must get their own homes.” He also informed that the ‘e-awas’ scheme of giving quarters to police would bring transparency on allotment procedure.
Mr Bachchan also assured complete assistance to Mum-bai police in any work. “As a citizen, it is our duty to help police. This is for our city, our state and our country,” he said.
